The Most Important Step
After Surgery

Post-surgical swelling, bruising and fluid retention are a natural part of the healing process — but they don't have to slow you down. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) performed by our Registered Nurses dramatically accelerates your body's natural recovery mechanisms.

Our nurse-led approach means every session is clinically monitored, adapting to your exact stage of healing. We work alongside your surgical team to ensure a safe, effective recovery that protects and enhances your surgical results.

Post-Op FAQs

How soon after surgery should I start MLD?
Most surgeons recommend starting MLD as early as 48–72 hours post-surgery, once the initial acute inflammation has settled. We will liaise with your surgical team to determine the safest start time for you.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies based on surgery type, swelling levels and your individual healing. Typically we recommend a minimum of 6 sessions, with many clients benefiting from 8–12 sessions for optimal results.
Is post-op MLD painful?
MLD is an extremely gentle technique. Most clients find sessions deeply relaxing. Some mild sensitivity at the surgical site is normal in early sessions, which our nurses always work around carefully.
Can I start even if my surgery was weeks ago?
Absolutely. While earlier is better, MLD is beneficial at any stage of recovery — even months post-surgery to address fibrosis, hardening or persistent swelling.
